Kia announced that the passenger version of the electric PV5 van will feature an accessible configuration for wheelchairs, with a side entry facilitated by a ramp capable of carrying up to 300 kg and a specialized fastening system.

The model was developed in partnership with Motability and will be part of the UK program for adapted vehicles for people with disabilities. Unlike other accessible vans, which are typically modified by third-party companies, all of the PV5’s adaptation is done by Kia itself, ensuring better integration and higher quality in the design.

Among the differentiating features of the model are the foldable seat in the third row, which provides lateral assistance for wheelchair users, and the side access to the vehicle, which is more practical in urban parking situations.

Kia also stated that the PV5 will integrate apps through its open software platform, offering more features based on the users’ needs. The direct production at the factory also brings environmental and economic advantages by eliminating steps in the adaptation process.

The PV5 will be fully electric, with battery options providing a range of up to 400 km, and it will be one of the few available electric accessible vans, as most competing models still run on diesel.

The prices for the adapted version have not yet been revealed, but the basic five-seat version starts at $43,700. The pre-sale of the passenger version started on May 1, 2025, with deliveries promised by the end of the year, and the adapted version should follow soon after.
